SCHOOL ON SHOW: Peases West Primary School's gymnastics team gave a display at the Wear Valley gymnastics festival, at the Spectrum Leisure Centre, Willington.
Team members were: Zoe McCullagh, Clare Bowes, Rachel Carlton, Chelsea Wilkinson, Rebeckah Oliver, Nathan Patey, Ryan Jane, Billy'Joe Watson, Chloe Potts, Nikki Howe, Leigh Hemingway, Lisa Fenwick, David Thirning, Beth Reed, Daniel Hepple, Amy Bainbridge, Ross Thompson, Amy Milton, Laura Grant and Stephanie Puckering.
The school will shortly become a UK online centre for community access to information and communication technology.
Headteacher Judith Stirk said, "Leaflets giving information and taster courses to run in June and July will be distributed shortly."
A number of parents have enrolled on the school's family literacy course, which leads to a City and Guilds qualification.
Next month, pupils in the nursery school will begin work with Paddy Burton from Jack Drum Arts on a project called Creation.
KEEP FIT: Training in Chundokwan tae kwondo is being held at St Catherine's Church Hall, Crook, on Tuesdays, from 7pm to 9pm, and Fridays, from 6.30pm to 8pm.
The instructor is Stephen McKenna, a fourth dan black belt. He will be joined by assistant instructors Jason Collingwood, second dan black belt, and Brian Earl, first dan black belt with his daughter, Tracy who is also a first dan black belt.
The cost per session is £1.50 for juniors and £2 for adults.
