TWO fundraising stalwarts who help to finance the work of the UK's lifeboats are in line for awards.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institute is holding its presentation at London's Barbican Centre on May 16.
Among those receiving gold badges from entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson will be Patricia Rodgers, of the Scarborough guild, and Kathleen Salter, of the Knaresborough guild, both North Yorkshire.
Mrs Rodgers has been honorary treasurer of her guild since 1995 and served as treasurer from 1976 to 1979. She was chairman between 1981 and 1983 and souvenir secretary from 1983 to 1997.
Mrs Salter has been honorary treasurer of her guild since 1980 and souvenir secretary since 1991.
