A ROAD was closed for more than two hours after a lorry shed its load, blocking traffic and damaging a wall.
Two 15ft by 5ft concrete pipes fell from the lorry shortly after 11pm yesterday in Salters Lane North, Darlington, near the junction with North Road.
One pipe blocked the road, while the other knocked down a garden wall.
A Durham Police spokes-man said: "It looks as though the driver may not have realised the pipes had fallen off and had driven on, but he was later traced by police."
The road was closed between 11.15am and 1.30pm.
