A COUNTRYSIDE worker's dedication to his job was rewarded last week when English Nature's new base in Wensleydale was named in his honour.
Ted Asquith has helped to forge links between the Government and the area's farmers for most of his working life.
English Nature opened its new Asquith House base last Tuesday on Leyburn's business park, having relocated from old offices at Thornborough Hall.
English Nature's director of operations, Andy Clements, said: "By moving to a new office in Leyburn, English Nature is signalling its continued commitment to collaborative working with farmers and landowners and the best levels of protection for wildlife habitats throughout the Yorkshire Dales."
Mr Asquith said having the building named after him was a great privilege
