Good advice on the basics
A team of Stockton Adult Education Basic Skills tutors is offering a drop-in service for residents of the town. The Community House, Cromwell Avenue, Stockton, will open its doors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10am to 3pm during term-time. The tutors will give advice about learning opportunities in spelling, reading, writing or maths. For information call (01642) 393535.
Drugs arrests: Two people were arrested and a quantity of drugs recovered from a house in Pearl Street, off Borough Road, Middlesbrough, following a raid yesterday.
ART SHOW: An exhibition by Teesside artists' group Blue House has opened at Billingham Art Gallery. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, and admission is free. The exhibition runs until June 1.
SARA MEETING: Sara (Saltburn Animal Rescue Association) meets today at 7.30pm in the TocH premises, Albion Terrace.
KITCHEN AWARD: Gisborough Hall Hotel, in Guisborough, has won a Grand Prix award for its kitchen at the Catering Equipment Distribution Association annual conference in Scotland.
