Youth camp help needed
A GROUP of nine young people and two adults from Yarm Twinning Association joined fifty French, German and Austrian friends in Alberndorf, Austria, at the end of last July. They enjoyed a fun-packed week, with activities ranging from visiting local vineyards on tractors to sight-seeing in Vienna. The week was provided free by the host country and 2002 is the year that Yarm will host the international youth camp. There will be about 60 young people and their leaders attending the event. They will camp at Crathorne and be fed by volunteers from parents and committee members. They need to raise money, as this is a very expensive project. In past years European friends have shown great generosity and the Yarm group hopes to return the hospitality. They are looking for sponsorship from local businesses and are planning fundraising events. Anyone who can help with sponsorship or fundraising is asked to contact Sue on (01642) 888508 or Jayne on (01642) 800037.
