SCHOOLCHILDREN took inspiration from one of the National Trust's properties to produce works of art.
The children from South Otterington, near Northallerton, and St Barnabus School, York, spent the day working with three professional artists during a visit to Beningbrough Hall and its gardens, which are near York.
During their visit they produced pieces of art in clay and cement relief, textiles and mosaics, all inspired by the historic setting.
Their work will be put on display at the hall and a special viewing for teachers, children, parents and the artists will be held on Saturday, May 18.
Katie Page, National Trust education coordinator, said: "We are delighted to be able to help stimulate, develop skills and encourage creativity in this way and hope it will encourage an appreciation of the children's natural heritage.
