A NORTH Yorkshire authority's four leisure centres have been recognised as top class.
Stokesley has joined Thirsk, Bedale and Northallerton in achieving the national Quest accolade - the quality mark for leisure services in the UK.
The centres, run by Hambleton District Council, are among 250 in the country to get the award.
Stokesley centre manager Paula Feguson said: "We are delighted with this result. It is always pleasing to get positive feedback and know that our hard work is worthwhile. But despite the high score, we know there are still areas for improvement and the staff are working hard to do just that."
