GROUPS planning trips out this summer but who are worried that transport may prove a problem need look no further. Richmondshire Volunteer Centre has announced it has a minibus available for hire to charities, local clubs and societies, community groups and other non-profit making organisations. A trained driver is essential, but groups without one can register a member for a course with the Richmondshire Wheels For All project, which can be contacted on (01609) 761832. Fees for use of the minibus include a £10 down payment, with 42p then charged per mile. Bookings can be made by calling (01748) 822335.
HIT SHOW: Castaway Theatre presents a production of Willy Russell's hit, Shirley Valentine, at the Galtres Centre, Easingwold, on Saturday, May 11, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children, and are available from the centre.

SOUND SYSTEM: An £11,000 sound reinforcement system is to be installed at Hambleton District Council's civic centre, Northallerton, to help people with hearing difficulties when they visit the authority's headquarters for meetings.
ART SHOWCASE: The Gallery, Masham, is telling Yorkshire Tales this week, with the launch of its latest exhibition. Local artists' work is complemented by personal anecdotes and poetry, giving the visitor an insight into their inspiration. Masham itself, as well as locations such as Penhill and the ruined abbeys at Fountains and Jervaulx, are among the locations captured on canvas.
