A CONFERENCE to highlight the needs of people with learning disabilities and to offer guidance to their carers will be held in Bishop Auckland next week.
Expert speakers, from social services, County Durham Care and Mencap, will discuss social care, residential provision and support for carers.
There will also be a series of workshops to focus on new services for carers, Alzheimer's disease and the early onset of dementia in people with learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours.
The event will be held at the Optimum Centre next Thursday, from 10am to 2.30pm.
Anyone who cares for adults with learning disabilities is invited to attend. For details call Corinne Whitelock on (01388) 454832.
