THREE distinctive high-powered motorbikes have been stolen in a raid on their owner's garage
Police are alerting bike shop owners about the machines, which were taken from St Andrew's Road, Bishop Auckland, between 9pm on Saturday and 1.30am on Sunday.
The most expensive of the three was a £7,700 red 1450cc Harley-Davidson, registration X409 MKJ.
A £5,000 blue 1200cc Bluell, registration V736 HAB, and a £1,100 Honda CB100, registration K496 SUP, were also taken.
PC Chris Luetchford, of Bishop Auckland police, said: "The garage they were taken from is in a row of semi-detached houses easily visible from the main road, the A688.
"It is possible someone may have seen the bikes being taken out of the garage without realising they were, in fact, being stolen."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Luetchford on (01388) 603566 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
