A TEAM of school pupils has received more than £12,000 from the Prince's Trust as a part of a millennium scheme to support youth groups.
Six students from Staindrop Comprehensive School were awarded the cash for creating a CD-ROM and book to help young people involved in youth organisations.
The CD-ROM is aimed at helping youngsters come up with ideas and activities which will ultimately teach them new skills.
The book and CD includes information on a wide range of topics, including step-by-step instructions for arts and crafts activities, games, fundraising ideas, special projects, residential sessions, health, disability awareness and environmental projects.
Headteacher Brian Kinnair said: "We are absolutely delighted the group has received the award and it is well deserved. They have worked hard for this and funding will no doubt come in handy for any future projects the group launches.
