PUPILS at a Darlington college have been learning about the dangers of lymphatic cancer.
Carmel RC Technology College also raised £250 for the Lymphoma Association, which was presented yesterday.
National Lymphoma Awareness Week runs from May 11 to 16, and pupils have been taught about the illness - cancer of the body's lymphatic system, which helps to fight off diseases - in assembly and through posters which were put up around the school.
A lymphoma sufferer, who does not wish to be identified, approached the school to ask pupils to raise money for the Association, which offers support and information to sufferers and carers.
Headteacher James O'Neill said: "Pupils raise funds on a regular basis here, particularly through Lent, and we agreed to donate some of these funds to the association. We also raised awareness about lymphoma through a poster campaign.
