THE sale of Europe's deepest potash mine has been completed.
In November last year, American Anglo announced its intention to sell the entire share capital in Cleveland Potash Ltd to Israel Chemicals' fertiliser division, ICL Fertilizers.
Yesterday, it was announced that approval has been received from all the relevant authorities and the sale has been completed.
Bob Laybourne, managing director of Cleveland Potash, said: "The company can now concentrate on the future and develop its extensive reserves to the benefit of shareholders, the company and employees."
The mine, in the east Cleveland village of Boulby, produces approximately one million tonnes of potash and more than half a million tonnes of road salt from underground mines.
