TWO children's groups are continuing their bid to buy new premises.
The Borrowby nursery school and village playgroup started fundraising in 1999 to buy a portable classroom to be kept in the grounds of nearby Knayton School.
Both groups are run from Borrowby village hall, near Northallerton, but have raised more than £7,500 for their new home, which would give the youngsters a playground and an after-school club.
To help raise more funds, the nursery is holding a coffee morning and jumble sale in the village hall on Saturday, May 11, from 9am until noon. There will be stalls selling toys and books and a play area for youngsters.
Nursery owner Linda Chapman said: "It is important that we maintain the momentum as we have no outside play area at the moment. It is vital if we are to improve the high quality care and education that we are constantly striving to provide.
