YOUNGSTERS throughout Gateshead will make a meal of the Queen's visit by tucking into specially prepared food.
Primary school pupils across the borough will be served with a Millennium Bridge menu tomorrow to mark the start of the Queen's jubilee visit to the region.
The menu has been devised by Gateshead Borough Council catering services team, in partnership with Lord Lawson of Beamish School, Birtley.
Youngsters will be able to choose from Buckingham Palace pizza, a Millennium hotdog in a bridge roll, celebration carrot and cucumber sticks, and Windsor wedges.
For pudding, the children can enjoy a Coronation cup cake washed down with a Commonwealth calypso fruit drink, all served in Union Jack bags.
