A POTENTIAL dream date turned to disaster for a North-East hairdresser on TV show Blind Date.

When 20-year-old Leanne Dowson picked Irish charmer Bosco on Cilla Black's ITV programme, and the couple headed for Munich, she thought her luck was in.

But after a romantic start things turned sour for the couple, Leanne told viewers on Saturday night.

When Leanne and Bosco saw each other for the first time, it seemed as though they might be a good match.

The couple shared a passionate kiss the night before jetting off to Germany.

Leanne, of Cockfield, County Durham, said: "I thought 'I can't believe it - I have met my dream man'."

But the following day, after the pair spent time water-skiing and visiting a beer garden, Leanne said her date started to ignore her.

"The final straw came when he was giving more attention to this German bag," said Leanne.

Bosco told Cilla: "Let's hope it is the start of a long relationship."

But Leanne's final comment suggested otherwise. "I have seen more energy in a slug - and you kiss like one, too," she said.
