A PUPPY is seeking a good home, preferably with a loving family able to offer the care and attention it deserves.

The puppy, Penny, was left at a County Durham vets with a badly broken leg after it had been run over.

Now Penny, believed to be about ten months old, has recovered from its injuries and is ready to be adopted.

It has already won the affections of its foster family, but needs to find a permanent home as soon as possible.

Elizabeth Hayton, who is looking after Penny, on behalf of the RSPCA, said: "It was a very bad break, but she has recovered now. The vet says she might have a limp, but she is okay.

"She is very loving and brilliant with my kids who are aged eight and seven.

"She's very bouncy and still has all the characteristics of a puppy. She still chews.''

Anyone who can offer Penny a home is asked to contact Mrs Hayton on (01207) 239493.
