PETS and their owners teamed up for a fundraising walk along the river banks of a city yesterday.
The northern walk of Walkover Britain, the national sponsored dog walk, took place in Durham City as part of the Pets as Therapy (Pat) fun week, which began on Saturday and finishes this Saturday.
Other activities taking place in the area as part of the week include a social night and barbecue at the Admiralty Ecology Site, Urlay Nook, in Cleveland, on Friday and, a photographic and creative show, which is open to all animal owners.
Maureen Hennis, Pat's northern director, said: "All activities are to raise awareness and contribute to fundraising for Pets as Therapy, which organises registered Pat dogs and Pat cats to visit hospitals, hospices, residential homes, day care centres and special schools, bringing love and companionship to patients and often helping with treatment and therapy."
