YOUNGSTERS on Teesside are being given an insight into the world of work thanks to a new scheme.
The Business Ambassador programme trains people from all walks of working life to go into schools and talk to pupils about their experiences.
Lisa Daley, a recruitment assistant at Clairville Stadium, in Middlesbrough, was one of the first ambassadors to be recruited by scheme organisers learn2work.
Last week, she spent a day at Brambles Farm Primary School helping children put together a newspaper.
She said: "It was a fantastic day. The pupils interviewed me about my job at the leisure centre and we talked about healthy eating, which they used in their newspaper.
"Being a business ambassador is a good way to give something back and an opportunity to have a different working day."
Anyone interested in becoming an ambassador is asked to contact Nicola Sherrat, on (01642) 345608.
