AN artist is celebrating 25 years in business by opening his studio to the public.
John Degnan and his wife, Janet, started up their artistic business in 1977.
Mr Degnan, who used to work for the United bus company, turned his talents to producing sculptures, drawings and paintings, while Mrs Degnan created handicrafts and knitted goods, which they sold on Durham market.
After seven years, they moved to Bowes and Mr Degnan converted an outbuilding of their new home into an artist's studio.
Now, in the business's 25th year, he has upgraded the studio so that the public can see him work. The studio will be open every Wednesday from 10am to 6pm, until October.
