GARDENERS from across the region are expected to descend on a North Yorkshire stately home this weekend.
Newby Hall, near Ripon, is holding its spring plant fair on Sunday.
Specialist growers and nurseries will offer plants and gardening paraphernalia for sale.
For novices, there will be the chance to obtain advice on the best plants for their garden from the stallholders.
"The spring plant fair is an extremely popular event here at Newby Hall and every year it seems to get bigger and bigger," said administrator Robin Alexander.
Entry is £5.50 for adults, £4.50 for seniors, £4 for children and under-fours get in for free. The ticket also includes admission to the hall's gardens.
