THE Harlequin Masquerade cheerleading team has triumphed at the recent UK national competition, bringing home their third trophy in 18 months.
The elite squad is looking forward to taking part in further competitions in Blackpool and Hemel Hempstead.
The school will also be entering a junior squad at these events.
Last month the senior pupils received the highest mark of the Blue Riband in their gold International Dance Teachers Association examinations.
Some of the dancers of the Harlequin Stage School, in Yarm, are the Darlington Divas who, as cheerleaders, entertained the football spectators last season at Darlington's Feethams ground before kick-off and at half-time, with their dance routines.
The Harlequin Stage school has its own studio in Bridge Street, Yarm, where children have the opportunity to learn all styles of stage and performing arts.
There are dance classes available in ballet, modern dance, tap, disco and a comprehensive syllabus of stagecraft for pupils aged from three years.
