A NATIONAL Lottery cash boost has ensured Richmond can celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in style.
The town has won a £4,350 grant to help cover the cost of a programme of events, including a family walk, a picnic and a fireworks display, on Tuesday, June 4.
Some of the money will be used to rejuvenate the former rose garden next to Trinity Church on the market square.
The mayor, Tom Burrows, said: "I'm very much in favour of celebrating the jubilee and this will let us have a bigger and better party.''
Mayor-elect and co-ordinator of the jubilee committee, Stuart Parsons, said: "I feel the news of an Awards for All grant from the National Lottery puts the icing on the cake for our celebrations.
