The Bishop Auckland King's Head lead the league this week after a convincing victory against the Spennymoor Victoria. The King's did not drop a point in the singles with wins from Malcolm Parry, Andrew Tuesday, David Jacomb, Steve Bainbridge and Peter Mernor. They then took the first doubles through David Jacomb and Andrew Tuesday but the Victoria avoided the whitewash when Ian and Karl Cranswick won the second doubles. Peter Mernor finished in style when he won the Captains game to leave the final score at 7-1 to the King's Head.
Spennymoor Voltigeur got off to a good start when the played away at Spennymoor Hillingdon with Darren Briggs and David Graham winning the first two singles games for the visitors. The home side then fought back and won the remaining singles games through Steve Jones, Paul Fox and Gary Smith to take the score at 3-2. The Hilingdon then continued their winning streak with Kenny Taylor and Tracey Blenkinsop taking the first doubles. David Graham and Mike Craddock's win in the second doubles gave the Voltigeur the chance to tie the match if they could take the Captains but Steve Jones went on to take the point and claim the victory for the home side.

Tow Law League
Tow Law New Market A began the new season with a victory, one more than they managed during last season. They entertained Tow Law Dan's Castle B and shared the singles when they had wins from Goff Bramfitt, Ivor Childs and David Corrigan whilst the visitors levelled with wins from Emma Jefferson, Chris Suddes and Heather Laing. The New Market clinched victory by taking two of the three doubles.
