Philadelphia, who have just joined the league, recorded their first victory in two outings defeating Sunderland at Bunker Hill.
After losing their first game at Tynemouth, Phili bowled out the visitors for just 94 as Nathan Gray claimed five wickets for 27 runs in 11 and captain Billy Bailey weighed in with figures of four for 21 from 10.3 overs. Replying Phili romped to victory in 26 overs losing one wicket as Carl Miller carried his bat for 70 hitting one six and ten fours.
Chester-le-Street emulated the performance of their first team defeating Stockton by 45 at Ropery Lane. David Hawke (50) and David Robson (79) led the side to 199 for five and Steve Greensword carried his bat for 28. Fletcher claimed four of the five wickets to fall for 38 runs and when Stockton replied they were all out for 154. Mason (41), Harrison (44) and Atkins (35) were the principal contributors and for the Cestrians Roddam had three for 38 and Greensword three for 22.
Benwell Hill won their local derby at South Northumberland by eight wickets. Required to score 119 they were indebted to opener Chris Walder who scored a fine 87.
When South North batted first they were out for 118 with Barry Evans taking five for 39.
