YOUNGSTERS in Thornaby have named a new young people's centre.
They have chosen to call the centre, on the site of the old Walkers Bingo Hall, Youthy.
Work on the centre is due to be completed next month. It is hoped to have it open in time for the summer holidays.
Not all of the activities will begin straightaway, but the climbing wall and Internet cafe will be available.
The centre will be run by a committee involving youngsters.
The building is owned by the Five Lamps organisation and funded by Single Regeneration Budget cash.
