NEARLY 200 people are now known to have been affected by a virus which has forced the closure of a top hotel.
The Grand Hotel, in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, will be shut down this weekend as a precautionary measure against any further spread of what is thought to be the airborne virus Norwalk.
So far, 160 guests and 31 members of staff either have, or are recovering from, the virus which causes sickness and diarrhoea.
The hotel closed down today and will be cleaned thoroughly over the weekend.
The Norwalk bug is a form of gastroenteritis, which health experts say usually runs its course within 48 hours.
