AN art gallery becomes a showcase for local artistic talent this weekend.
Half a dozen art clubs from the district are joining forces to present a major exhibition at the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate, from tomorrow.
Some will be familiar to regular visitors while others are new to the Swan Road venue.
Curator Karen Southworth said: "We're looking forward to celebrating the diversity of local talent and are pleased to extend the invitation to exhibit in the Mercer to art clubs across the whole of the Harrogate district.
"The exhibition promises to be a great jamboree."
The clubs which are involved this year are: The Curiously Strong Art Group; The Harrogate and Nidderdale Art Club; The Harrogate Photographic Society; The Knaresborough Art Society; The Pateley Bridge Art Club; and Ripon Arts.
Work by more than 150 artists will be on show - from traditional landscapes to modern abstracts and figure studies with many for sale.
The exhibition runs until Sunday, June 16, and is open Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 5pm and on Sundays from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
