Sedgefield school leavers got all dressed up for what proved to be a highly successful prom night.
It was the first time Sedgefield Community College had held such an event, which proved so popular it could become an annual occasion.
Martin Kirkup and Rachel Cowans were crowned the school's first Prom king and queen.
Each form put forward their own candidates and the winners were chosen in a ballot of Year 11 students.
The event was held at the Hardwick Hall Hotel, which provided facilities without charge, and included a non-alcoholic bar.
Headteacher Lynne Ackland said: "It was an excellent night, with at least 15 stretch limos, beautiful dresses and young men in tuxedos. This was the first prom held by Sedgefield Community College, but we are sure there will be many more.
