Entry forms for the annual 10km Road Race at the Croft racing circuit, near Darlington, are available.
The race, organised by Darlington Harriers, takes place on Wednesday, July 3, at 7pm, with a 2km fun run for eight to 16-year-olds starting at 6.30pm.
Entry forms are available from the Eastbourne Sports Complex, Hundens Lane, Darlington, and all sports shops in the town.
CAR THEFT: An Austin Maestro, registration F841 BWD, was stolen from Thornton Close, Newton Aycliffe, at noon on Thursday. Two men who said they were considering buying the car drove off in it.
FURNITURE STOLEN: A circular wooden table and two wooden chairs, worth £400, and a Burmese teak double-garden seat with a table in the middle, worth £200, were stolen from two gardens in Belford Way, Newton Aycliffe, between 8pm on Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday.
TOOLS TAKEN: A Dewalt chop saw, worth £400, and a Dewalt router were stolen from a Ford Transit van in Front Street, Trimdon, between 1.30m and 3.30pm on Wednesday.
LINGERIE RAID: A 42-year-old man was being questioned by police last night after the window of Penelope's Lingerie, in Priestgate, Darlington, was smashed and underwear taken at 2am yesterday.

PETS SERVICE: To mark National Animal Pet Week, a church service will be held for pets and their owners on Sunday. Wilson's Veterinary Surgery has organised the event at the Lightfoot Institute, Kingsway, Bishop Auckland, at 2.30pm.
CARING SHOPPERS: People shopping at the Asda store in Bishop Auckland helped the supermarket beat 252 other Asda stores to win the Golden Bear Award for outstanding community work. The store raised £23,945 for local charities.
BRIDGE DRIVE: A bridge drive is taking place on Monday at St George's Bridge Centre, Darlington, at 1.15pm. Admission is £2.50, with profits going to the Durham Macmillan Appeal. For details call (01325) 469785.

FLATS PLAN: Darlington Borough Council has applied to its planning committee for approval of plans to turn a house into two self-contained flats at 2 Upper Westbrook, in the town.
