SIGNALLER Andrew Dunn from Ferryhill has been training with Exercise Lion Sun on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
The 21-year-old is a member of the Royal Signal Regiment, which has been involved in military and adventure training.
The exercise has been a break for the signaller and his colleagues, who are usually working on projects at the regiment base in Bulford, Wiltshire.
Andrew joined the armed forces in 1999. Previously he worked at the Flymo factory in Newton Aycliffe, making gardening equipment.
His parents, Liz and Ian, live in Ferryhill.
