A TEACHER from Darlington has received a Doctorate of Education from Newcastle University.
Beverley Palmer, head of Spanish at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, received her degree earlier this month from Chris Patten, former governor of Hong Kong.
Ms Palmer gained her doctorate after six years of part-time study, which included a thesis based on research of students at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Hummersknott School and Languages College, Haughton and Longfield comprhensive schools in Darlington.
