Villagers have launched a £200,000 campaign which they hope will breathe new life into their community hall.
Residents of Cropton, near Pickering, plan to bring the 100-year-old facility into the 21st Century, with a larger hall and meeting room, and improved access for the disabled.
Village hall committee members are hoping to raise £50,000 locally, with the rest coming from funding bodies which include the National Lottery
