FINAL rehearsals are under way for two proms celebrations in the region.
The first event is the Promenade for Youth at Darlington's Dolphin Centre, on Friday.
It is being held to raise money for St Teresa's Hospice, the Darlington branch of Age Concern, Darlington Mind and the Corps of Army Music Trust.
Sarah Kelly, of Stanley, County Durham, runner-up in this year's Young Soprano competition, will be joined by violinist Edward Walton, Darlington and Northallerton Rotary's Young Musician of the Year.
The youth event is a warm-up for the Last Night of the Proms concert, on Saturday.
The winner of the Young Soprano of the Year competition, 15-year-old Sanaz Lavasani, of Kirklevington, near Yarm, will perform two songs at the concert, also at the Dolphin Centre.
Tickets can be obtained from The Northern Echo, on (01325) 381313, Williams Music, on (01325) 466224, or the Dolphin Centre, on (01325) 388406.
