A NORTH-EAST university is to host a talented German sculptor.
The Henry Moore Foundation Fellowship is awarded to a young sculptor of outstanding ability.
This year's winner, Ralf Brg, will work with students and staff at Sunderland University's School of Arts, Design and Media.
Eric Bainbridge, professor of fine art at the university, said: "The Henry Moore Foundation is one of the world's most respected and important arts foundations.
"It is wonderful to be able to support a talented young artist, and to give our students the opportunity to work with him."
As well as creating and touring with his own work, Ralf, from Dusseldorf, co-ordinates exhibitions for other artists in his home country, and writes and edits the international arts magazine, Site.
His residency runs until next year.
An exhibition of his work inspired by his time in Sunderland will be held at the university's Vardy Gallery, in March
