A TOTAL of 45 residents have been hailed as community role models for achieving success in information technology classes.
The men and women from west Redcar all have children at local primary schools and have been studying at the Dormanstown and Coatham Local Learning Centres as part of the West Redcar Single Regeneration Budget's Learning for All initiative. The scheme is jointly delivered by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Adult Education Service and the Workers Educational Association.
Asma Shaffi, curriculum development manager for the council's adult education service, said: "These residents present a brilliant example of community role models who have achieved significantly through their commitment, dedication and hard work."
The group will receive their certificates at a presentation ceremony at Redcar Education Development Centre, at 2pm on Friday, May 25.
