A STUDENT from the North-East is gearing up for the summer of a lifetime.
Zarah Rasool, 17, a student at Prior Pursglove College, in Guisborough, will fly to New York for 12 days in July to take part in the Global Youth Leaders conference.
The students will be trying to find solutions to issues such as international drug trafficking and global terrorism.
Zarah had to raise £1,200 for the fees, as well as her flight costs, but is excited at the opportunity.
She said: "It's going to be a really busy summer for me. I am going to Morocco for two weeks as part of my gold Duke of Edinburgh award and then I am only back for two days before I fly out to America.
"I am also looking forward to getting a global perspective on the big issues facing us. It will also develop my negotiating skills which will help me in my future career as a lawyer.
