PAN BLAZE: Firefighters extinguished a chip pan fire at a home in Hawthorne Road, Middlestone Moor, Spennymoor, just before 1pm yesterday.
FLOWER CLUB: Sedgefield and Ferryhill and District Flower Club holds its next meeting on Tuesday, May 21, in Sedgefield Parish Hall, at 7.30pm Anne Codd, of Ponteland, will give a demonstration.
DANCE DATE: A 50/50 ballroom and sequence dance is being held at Spennymoor Town Hall on Friday, from 8pm.
HOUSE RAID: A digital videodisc player, a Sony hi-fi system and speakers, 27 videodiscs and some compact discs, worth a total of £1,100, were stolen from a house in Half Moon Lane, Spennymoor, between 6.30pm and 9.40pm on Saturday.

BICYCLE STOLEN: A child's red Emmelle mountain bike with yellow forked suspension, worth £150, was stolen from Dale Road, Shildon, early on Sunday.

CHARITY NIGHT: A 50/50 modern and sequence dance will be held in Coundon Workmen's Club on Friday, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £1 with proceeds going to the Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland.
EQUIPMENT TAKEN: Items of electrical equipment were stolen from a house in Duncombe Terrace, Ferryhill, between 8.30pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday.
TABLE THEFT: A combined oak table and bench, worth £70, was stolen from the Square and Compass pub, West Cornforth, on Saturday night.
FORUM MEETS: The Newton Aycliffe area forum will meet at the Great Aycliffe Town Council offices, School Aycliffe Lane, tomorrow, at 6.30pm.
COMEDY SHOW: Comedian Joe Pasquale will be performing his show Kak Raider 2002 at Darlington's Civic Theatre on Saturday, June 8. The show starts at 7.30pm. For tickets call (01325) 486555.
COUNCIL COMMITTEES: A meeting of Spennymoor Town Council's planning and highways committee will be held in the town hall tomorrow, at 6.45pm. It will be followed by a meeting of the services and amenities committee.
