DETECTIVES hope the public will be able to help them track down three men responsible for a street robbery in Ripon. A 37-year-old man was walking along the city's Kings Road when he was approached by a man asking for assistance. As they talked, another two men appeared and all three assaulted him. The victim was forced to hand over possessions before the three muggers ran off towards Boroughbridge Road. The first attacker was white, in his twenties, thin, with gaunt features. He had short, dark hair and was unshaven. The second was also in his twenties with scruffy, collar-length hair, a straggly beard and moustache and had a spot on his cheek. He spoke with a North-East accent and wore a black and grey checked jacket with buckles on the collar. Anyone who thinks they may recognise the descriptions, or who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area last Thursday night, is asked to contact Harrogate CID on (01423) 505541.
