WOMEN will take centre stage at a North-East theatre in a series of shows starring some of the UK's leading celebrities.
Durham's Gala Theatre will host Bonnie Langford, Jenny Seagrove, Germaine Greer and Honor Blackman during a series dedicated to female stars.
It will begin with a show by Ms Langford, on Friday and Saturday, featuring Broadway and West End hits and spanning a range of musical styles and eras.
On Sunday, June 2, Sian Phillips will perform in a cabaret, including songs by writers from Kurt Weil to Billy Joel.
On Saturday, July 13, Ms Greer will deliver her views on life.
Ms Blackman will stage her one-woman show, Wayward Women, at the theatre on Sunday, July 14.
The play features Ms Blackman as figures such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Queen Elizabeth I, Barbara Cartland and Marlene Dietrich.
The final show in the series is Mothers and Daughters, on Sunday, July 28, starring Sylvia Syms and Ms Seagrove, which looks at the varying relationships between mothers and daughters.
