FORENSIC tests at a flat where a homeless man's body was found were expected to be finished last night.
The body of Robert Parkin, 29, known to his friends as Swampy, was found in a top-floor flat in Shaftesbury Street, Stockton, on Thursday.
Police said the homeless drifter had suffered assault injuries at some time, although it was not clear whether they contributed to his death. Mr Parkin, originally from Hartlepool, was involved in the drugs scene for many years and had become estranged from his family.
Police have asked other drug users, or anyone who knew him and had seen him in the week before his body was found, to come forward.
A confidential hotline has been set up on 07771 771314. An incident room has also been set up on (01642) 302389.
