A RURAL museum is marking two significant anniversaries by staging a major exhibition of royal memorabilia. Scores of royal souvenirs have gone on display at Thirsk Museum as part of the town's celebrations of the Queen's Golden Jubilee this year. The displays, which include commemorative mugs from the time of George V through to the present monarch, are also designed to celebrate the museum's 25th anniversary. Certificates awarded to members of the Home Guard are also featured, as are special boxes of chocolate - with Queen Victoria's portrait embossed inside - given to servicemen at the time of the Boer War. The exhibition runs until the end of October.
