A CYCLIST was rescued from remote moorland after losing control of his mountain bike on a disused railway line.
The 42-year-old, from Darlington, injured his shoulder after falling from his bike between Bloworth Crossing and the Lion Inn, at Blakey - one of the highest parts of the North York Moors. His friends raised the alarm after cycling to cottages.
Ten members of Cleveland Search and Rescue Team spent an hour searching for the man.
He was given first aid at the scene before being transported off the moor and taken by ambulance to Middlesbrough General Hospital. He was later released.
