ROBERT Wiseman Dairies has reported a rise in final turnover after shipping more than a billion litres of milk and cream for the first time.
The Glasgow group benefited from contracts with Safeway and Somerfield as well as securing a deal to supply Sainsbury's stores in the North and the Midlands. Also lifting sales was its dairy in Droitwich Spa, West Midlands.
Overall sales of liquid milk surged 13.4 per cent to reach 920 million litres for the year to March, helping total annualised volumes hit more than 1 billion litres. Group turnover leapt 23.6 per cent to £371.1m
