POLICE are hunting a man who attempted to snatch a woman's handbag.
The man tried to grab the bag from the 60-year-old woman as she walked past Cleveland College of Art and Design, in Green Lane, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough on Monday, at about 3.45pm.
A short struggle took place, in which the bag handle broke, but the culprit made off empty-handed.
The woman suffered bruising and swelling to her arm.
The man is described as white, aged about 20, of thin build and scruffy appearance.
Police believe a group of youths standing nearby may have witnessed the attack.
