TWO people in Darlington are being invited to speak out on behalf of the town's over-50s.
Darlington Older People's Services is looking for two volunteers, who must be over-50, to become patients' champions.
They will be asked to provide a voice for their age group and help to improve health and community services within the borough.
It is also hoped that the scheme will help to end age discrimination in the Darlington area.
The pair will work with local authority and health managers, as well as with other older people, to make sure local organisations respond to their needs.
Dr Hilton Dixon, of Darlington Primary Care Trust, said: "Patients' champions have an important role.
"I urge anyone who has an interest in quality of life issues and is over 50, living in the borough of Darlington, to get in touch and find out more."
Further information and application packs are available from Louise Graham, User Involvement Partnership, CVS, Pease House, Darlington or by calling (01325) 254662.
Applications close on Monday May 27
