A SPECIAL event for retailers is being held in Stockton Central Library tomorrow.
Retailers in the town are being given the opportunity to not only find out how they can improve shopping facilities for blind or visually impaired people, but also how to win the annual Stockton Blind People's Voice Award for retailers, which recognises their services to blind and visually impaired shoppers in the borough and past winners have included Iceland, Boots the Chemist, in Stockton, and Asda, in Billingham.
Along with the award, a cheque for £5,000 from Abbey National will be presented to Geoff Garnett from Stockton Blind People's Voice.
This will enable the organisation to buy a braille embosser, which will make it possible to bind braille material for the production of books, manuals and other documents.
To book a place at the event, contact Christine Durnion on (01642) 393997.
