POLICE are trying to piece together the missing hours of a North-East woman who was raped after leaving a night-club.
She was attacked in the early hours of Saturday, May 4 after leaving the Club 2K nightclub in Beaumont Street, Darlington. Two men stopped her in Askrigg Street off North Road, as she walked home. One held her down while the second raped her.
The 21-year-old was found wandering the streets by a milkman, at about 4am.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian McDonald, of Darlington police, said: "We are very eager to contact an old schoolfriend that the victim met as she walked home.
"The pair, who had not seen each other for 13 years, had been pupils at Hexham Road school in Walbottle, Newcastle. We want this man to come forward simply so we can find out what time she was walking home.
"We cannot account for her activities from when she left the club to when she was found, although she has estimated what time the attack happened."
Anyone with information or who saw the woman on Friday night or early Saturday should call the police on (01325) 467681 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
