TTE Management and Technical Training trainee Amanda McLuckie has become the first woman to gain a chemical apprenticeship qualification.
Amanda, from Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, has completed the chemical technician advanced modern apprenticeship at TTE training centre at the Wilton Site, near Redcar.
Amanda, 21, who has been sponsored by BASF at Seal Sands, began her training in November 1999. She is due to complete the course in November but has already picked up a number of City and Guilds, and NVQ qualifications in process plant operations.
Ann Simpson, training coordinator at BASF, praised Amanda's hard work and dedication, while Phil Blewitt, TTE group operations director, said: "Amanda is a highly motivated individual who deserves to succeed and I am delighted to be able to offer our warmest congratulations to her.
